it's very strange, living and working in moscow, our fates are so immediately tied to the dollar. this is because: I am paid in dollars, and the slightest tick up (or down) means I have more (or less) rubles in my jittery little fist.

woke up today with that feeling that you're just getting drunker and drunker. bleh. my ocntacts feel sticky.

3 weeks till nyc, my friend.

it's actually hysterical with the europeans, who are also paid in dollars. when the greenback ticks up, they cheer, then they boo, then they screw up their cultured little eyes in a mess of confusion and disorientation. they can afford to upgrade their vodka but granny won't get that operation back home. mixed feelings look adorable on german girls, especially. french girls pretend like they don't care but you can tell they do. and the british always seem a little confused.
