It Was a Pretty Good Run... Well, Mediocre... DJIA -100

...Somewhere, sometime ago... something went reasonably wrong, not tragically wrong, but pretty wrong... that diagonal white rectangle in the bottom left of the photo... that's my napkin stash from McFucknalds... Mum is going to be mad that I ate so late again... Diamond Day was a waste... in my sharper days I could've felt the downside pressure in the Dow for the day... but I just couldn't pull the trigger... now it's pretty much a long holiday weekend... you know, I don't like weekends these days... I'll try to make this one a weekend of relaxation and positive thinking... maybe sit by the Hudson... so I guess I still have to be bullish USD with the rate environment... no point being bullish if you can't get the account open... bullish is as good as bullshit... so they never called me back, that shitfest about direct fx with 1300 pip spreads on the euro...I'm going back to school... within three months, I'll know... Three Wise Men...

...one grain of sand... one ounce of hope... when Steve the Stonemason, wearing his Iron Maiden t-shirt asks me to join him to see the Philharmonic on the Great Lawn... I know there's still men of merit... the type of man who has no fronts about race and class, and is open minded as you'll ever get... no free loafing, no bitching about the man keeping him down(occasionally about the mexicans)... nonetheless, he gets his work done... he did the stone work on the student center at Columbia University my freshman year... bottom line: his ambitions are in line with his abilities... that's why they're my local friends... good friends... Noel the Editor of the Economist... we worry bout 'em... he wants to be a left handed pitcher now... to be the Editor at the Economist is easy 6 figure salary, but he got the boot, and he balks like a motherfucker... and then there's me... Lockheed... trade anything with a bid and ask... Posted by Hello

This accountant CPA lady and I are talking about shady commission shit financial sales, she also comments on business attire, and there are guys walking in with their business attire: eNyce jeans, and oversized Phatfarm t shirts(but I'm sure they are very expensive and overpriced no different from Bloomingdales)... she shakes her head, and is like, does Mcdonalds have a boothe here too?(and this wasn't a racist comment, because she was a black lady)... we both just laughed...
...sleepys, sprint.... sales this.... this chinese import/export company for fine wall clocks... primerica... oh the usual suspects... so I go over to a broker and ask futures? NOPE. Forex? NOPE. Commodities? NOPE... just sales, says Vinny Boombop giving me a condescending look because I ain't a stockjobber lowlife... fuck you Pizono...

DJIA Lame, CTTY retraces 50%

...so made friends with a stonemason at local irish pub... outside smoking a butt, and some bum comes up to us all belligerent about needing a dollar or two... we decline... stonemason adamant in telling me why he won't give the 'ethnic slur' shit, and why he hates how mexicans are taking his bread... I understand... we then worry bout an old layed off local of the bar... he was the editor for The Economist for while... we say he won't be making it home till real late tonight... then we talk about Steely Dan and how fucking incredible they are... course, this is the same guy who loves Motorhead, and how close I was to killing him... but deep down, he knows how to identify talent, and he knows fucking bullshit liberalism when he sees it... I got about 50K on top of the 300k to manage... I got to put this capital to work with a vengeance, no more games, no more silliness... FOCUS. DISCIPLINE. HARD WORK. DUE FUCKING DILIGENCE. And then, I approach the autumn of my life... and I fade away, neither grateful or ungrateful... Posted by Hello

Who Killed All The Kennedys, When After All, It Was You, BUT NOT FUCKING ME...

...The Furies must think I'm absurdly rusty... I'm no fool anymore... In the Hospice setting, they supposedly try to make the end of one's mortal life comfortable... A case study would be a man who wanted to see the great classic rock bands live for once in his life, the rock bands of his innocent youth... well, what I've done is become a 'tribute band' junkie... I've now in rapid succession(because I obviously can't witness the true originals play) have seen WHO'S NEXT(the Who tribute), STEALIN' DAN(Steely Dan), and ROCK N' ROLL CIRCUS(Rolling Stones)... all play at BB KINGS... I'm not blind, I know the Furies are needling the end of the rope for me... I will be ready when I finally see PHYSICAL GRAFFITTI(Led Zeppelin), my all time favorite... On the working front, I have one last stake at making the grand speculation on establishing the FOREX trading dept at my Equity firm... if it fails, well, as my business partner says, Some Will, Some Won't, So What... Well, as for tribute bands go, the mannerisms are great, but ONLY the Original Band has the right to alter the melody of their songs when playing live... I don't want to hear Street Fighting Man in the melody of fucking Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head... I just strained my neck acting like Mick Jagger... Posted by Hello

Dow Meanders, Poor Philly Fed...

Yeah. It meandered. No DIA screens today. Just a boatload of annoyance. Actually kept my head above water for the most part, first time in a while... I might watch people swing dance at Lincoln Center tonight and completely lose myself in the whimsical motions pretending for an instance I could be so carefree...

OXY Slippage...

...specialists each have their own personality. The Chicago Specialist for Lucent(LU) is a royal prick so I don't bother placing my orders with him/her. Traders in general will gun for stops or attempt to, because Stops generally Cluster around the same price levels, and a single share printing at the stop price can open a floodgate... Especially at volatile times of the day like at the open... First of all, if you trading an energy stock, or oil specifically, you got to watch out Wednesday mornings when AIP releases crude supply domestically, and it was no mystery that the priced dipped because of OPEC comments for raising supply... you also got stopped out because OXY was consolidating and people clustered stops and 'sell at the open' orders around 76.30, and because OXY is relatively THIN(see open book), a large sell order can easily take out small bids dotted all the way and below your stop loss price... when the bids are painted with 1000 shares, to 500 shares, to 7000 at most at different prices, without tight pricing, like in this example, after 77.79 the next best bid is at 77.73, and then it gets even more loose.... etc, yeah, you could get stopped out and slipped a a bit, especially when 200,000 shares trade in the first 10 minutes after the open... I hate having to show my hand by placing a hard stop, but that's money management... Best advice for reducing slippage: find a pocket of liquidity, in this example, I'd place a stop right above the 7000 share bid at 77.7, place it around 77.71, so I'm pretty sure if it prints, I have enough to lean on and get out at 77.7... On other news, TICS data was poor, with nobody buying U.S. debt... CPI shows a drop in prices for the first time in 10 months, this market is sluggish and that's why I'm writing on this blog... and my friend wants me to go to gross but fun Brighton Beach in Brooklyn, but I sorta can't because I'm down for the month, and well, feel downright despondent about many things... Linearly Speaking... I'm 28... Time is Several Things...

Yes, Time is Money. Time is also Opportunity Costs. Time is Accomplishments. I'm 28. I have a rigid stop loss at 30... The bottom line, Time is Virtue. I'm working on a reasonable opportunity of positive expectation. I'm going to watch the free Met Opera on the Great Lawn at Central Park.... this same time last year, I was close to dying... these cycles repeat themselves to a Tee.

Soy.... Un a Perdedor...

....so I'm going to program a simple fibo retracement system into tradestation with the DIA, basically starting with 38.2 expected retracements ,with 60& taken off an initial exit, 40% ride... and a 30 point stop loss... I figure it'll screen and execute a trade about once a week based on the parameters.... NOw, I mentioned I hated KINKO's because of their deliberately slow Internet Access, thus running up ridiculous charges... but they went way to far today, when they didn't even say their PRINTERS were not working, and let all customers LOG ON and run up charges, only to realize that they couldn't even PRINT the document.... Of course, many brought this up with the in house employees, but many just left in disgust ,thus KINKOS pocketing the SCAM. Fucking dicks....with rerun shows and the cocaine nosejob...Posted by Hello

5.1% and All That Shit About Lowest even compared to the 90's...

How is the unemployment rate down to 5.1%? STOP looking at this shit figure... erase it as an indicator, it's all about payrolls that are durable. It's very simple. VERY SIMPLE. The actual heads qualified as the 'LABOR FORCE' has declined, since 20% have gone back to higher education to whatever extent, as seen in a boom in community college tuitions... another 10% have simply given up looking... At the Humphrey Hawkins testimony, Alan Greenspan looked like a corpse... and one astute politician even dared venture that the U.S. would become like China with hybrid Centralization and FreeMarket economy and well, way of living... Other than that, INTC made a nice retracement aftermarket with their midquarter conference... When I make the great speculation, I will then be your Captain, and we will ride on our mystery ship...

All But Dead...

So trading the DIA(dow tracker) on retracements after a 100 point day up or down has proven to be effective with an 90% probabilility since the bottom in April... Why I can't pull the trigger I don't know... LU and NT are completely shoddy now... A guest on CNBC voiced concerns about those who did not benefit from the supposed 'recovery'... that would be me, in fact, I've been approaching rockbottom throughout the recovery... trying to establish the fx department at my firm, proving to be aggravating... so I go to the corner irish bar, and overhear this construction worker bragging about a big contract to this lady, of course, with the interspersed, 'I haven't slept with a woman in a long time' talking to this grimy lady dropping f-bombs like the word 'the'... anyways, I go to the jukebox and play whatever is available, ACDC, Clash, Mad Season, Squeeze, looking for Zeppelin... soon as my songs go on, he walks out... then comes back in puts on headphones and starts blasting it at the bar... I look over, and he gives me this look, and says, 'I don't like the fucking music they play here... Motorhead for me... Motorhead is not supposed to be nice... yadadaada..' Now, I listened to Motorhead when I was thirteen, they're just not good in regards to heavy metal, they have one good song... And so I can't even hear my jukebox tunes because this guy is blasting his headphones like a cock... He shuts them off not knowing that he was every close not making it to that big construction contract down south... 90% probability that I would beat his fucking garbage face to the fucking tile floor, kick his fucking teeth out... and since the Irish folk like me there, they wouldn't give a shit if I put this white trash asshole on the worker's comp plan...

NonFarm Payrolls a Mere 70K... 10Yr Apocalpytic Yields...

Although the unemployment rate dropped to 5.1%, for every 3 unemployed persons there is 1 that is not counted in the survey because they have simply given up on looking for work. The real rate of unemployment is closer to 7%. Any asshole could've have shorted Google on Wednesday anywhere near the top after it was up over 10 bucks and covered easily and rather quickly a 76.8%-100% retracement on the downside... Of course, I'm not just any asshole... I shorted at 290, then was forced to close at a loss... Had I not answered my phone and been reprimanded, ten minutes later, I would have been sitting on a small fortune. Now the Golden Google Goose is off limits to me.
